Last Thursday, September 29th, myself (@plemmerick) and @kevinnewcombe (DONOVAN Creative’s lead developer and interactive strategist) attended a tech conference celebrating innovation in digital advertising, social media, cross-platform integration and new applications for existing technologies. Hosted by local non-profit Startup Edmonton Inc., six entrepreneurs took the stage for between 7-10 minutes to present their projects.

Personally, the one I found the most interesting was Jobber, presented by Sam Pillar. It was simple, inventive, and highly intuitive. Intended mostly for use by small construction and landscaping companies, this online project management tool would likely make a lot of sense for smaller advertising, marketing, graphic design and writing agencies in Edmonton. You can quickly create quotes for projects, assign employees tasks, and monitor the progress of a job.
DemoCamp Edmonton isn’t the only event Startup Edmonton will be running this year. Check out their site for more upcoming events.
