There is a clear parallel between the process of the above metalworker/woodworker and the process of any good creative agency. Represented graphically, it is the translation of something complex into something amazingly simple, all in the pursuit of a profound human reaction.
In the way that the gentleman in the video spends hours dedicated to a complex problem with many moving parts, so does any creative thinker. We take a multi-faceted problem or task and spend hours examining, analyzing and then building a proper solution to it. But the real artistry comes in the execution and the reaction it produces. The product (or idea) must be presented in its most simplified, elegant form for the audience to receive it in an impactful way. The ability to fully appreciate a complex thing is profoundly moving, and it’s something we all have in common.
